Legacy of a Construction Entrepreneur
Born in 1931, Tan Loong is a Malaysian businessman who started his career in the construction industry, working as a subcontractor for several companies.
In 1979, he founded Tan Loong & Sons Construction Sdn Bhd (TLSC), focusing on small-scale construction projects, such as residential and commercial buildings. Tan Loong later turned his vision into reality by expanding TLSC’s operations and venturing into luxury property development projects. TLSC became known for its focus on quality, innovation, and sustainable development. During his tenure, Tan Loong received numerous accolades and recognition for his contributions to the luxury property development industry.
In 2009, Tan Loong retired as the President and CEO of TLSC, passing on the
leadership to the next generation.
Inherited Passion, Legacy Transformed
Sharing the same passion and expertise in luxury property development with his grandfather, Tan Loong, Junior Tan noticed the increased demand for marble furniture in the industry. This propelled his journey in the research and development of marble furniture, leading to the establishment of Marblelous Sdn Bhd in 2012, one of the pioneers in manufacturing marble dining tables in Malaysia.
Just like constructing a luxury home, the creation of stunning marble tables relies on the meticulous craftsmanship of skilled artisans. Every piece of natural marble, from its birth beneath the earth, to its rebirth as an exquisite dining table, is a work of art. Recognising the need to preserve the allure of such unique pieces, and understanding the concern of marble table enthusiasts in its longevity, Marblelous developed COPALCLEAR® Coating to provide everlasting protection to marble tabletops.
A key product feature would be our table base designs that are inspired by renowned architects and artists. The SERRA table base, for example, is inspired by Richard Serra's minimalist large-scale installations. The Stojic table base, on the other hand, is inspired by Vojin Stoic's design of the Kosmaj Memorial Monument in Serbia. The company is ever progressive and innovative in our designs and products, ensuring customers that our designs are unique in every way.
